2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Parisian Bob: A Couple's Cut for Effortless Gloss. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For straight or wavy hair (1B–2B), the Parisian bob is a dream. Keep the length just at the jawline, with soft internal layers to add movement without bulk. If your hair is finer, ask your stylist for a slight graduation at the back to create volume. For coarser or curly textures, I’d go longer—collarbone-length—and cut with the curl pattern, not against it, to avoid the dreaded triangle effect.
Porosity matters too. Low-porosity hair tends to repel moisture, so I recommend a lighter leave-in and more frequent glossing. High-porosity strands drink up argan oil, but you’ll need to seal with a cool rinse to lock it in. Whatever your type, the key is to adapt the cut and products to your natural texture, not fight it.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
