2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Soft Bob That Frames Every Face: My Parisian Salon Signature. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

📌 Pin Hair Guide
Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For straight, fine hair, I keep the bob slightly longer—just past the chin—and add a subtle internal layer to create volume at the roots. If you have thick, coarse curls, I’d angle the cut more steeply at the front and leave the back a touch shorter, so it doesn’t puff out into a triangle. The key is to match the angle to your texture.
For low-porosity hair, I always finish with a few drops of argan oil to seal the ends and add shine. High-porosity strands, on the other hand, benefit from a leave-in rose water mist to lock in moisture. Adapt the botanical finish to your porosity, and the bob will look healthy and polished every day.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
