2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Romance Bob: A Soft, Face-Framing Cut for Effortless Elegance. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For straight hair, I recommend a one-length bob with a soft underlayer to add subtle volume. If you have waves, we can enhance them with point-cutting to create a more textured, beachy feel. The angles should be slightly longer in the front to frame the jawline without overwhelming it.
For curly or coily textures, I’d suggest a longer bob (or ‘lob’) with layers that start at the cheekbone. This allows the curls to bounce while still giving that romantic shape. Always ask for a dry cut if you have texture—it lets me see exactly how your hair falls naturally.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
