Soft Romantic Bob: A Botanical Styling Ritual for Couples

Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands

For straight hair, I keep the bob slightly longer—just grazing the collarbone—to add weight and prevent it from flipping out. For wavy textures, I cut shorter, around the jawline, and use point-cutting to remove bulk, letting natural waves create a soft, romantic silhouette. If you have fine hair, ask your stylist for subtle internal layers to boost volume without sacrificing length.

For curly or coily hair, I’d adapt the bob to a curly cut, where the hair is trimmed dry, curl by curl. This respects the natural shrinkage and creates a bouncy, rounded shape. The key is to embrace your porosity: low-porosity hair needs lightweight moisture like aloe vera, while high-porosity hair benefits from richer butters like shea. Always communicate your hair’s needs to your stylist so they can tailor the cut and products.

🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide

  • Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
  • Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
  • High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
