Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For wavy 2B hair, I keep the bob slightly longer—just grazing the collarbone—and add soft, rounded layers that frame the face. This prevents the waves from looking stringy and encourages gentle S-curves. If your hair is fine, I’ll add a subtle internal layer to create the illusion of density without sacrificing weight.
For tighter 3C curls, I go shorter in the back and leave more length in the front, cutting each curl individually. This gives a modern, asymmetrical feel that’s still easy to style. And if you have low porosity hair, I always finish with a lightweight jojoba oil mist—it seals the cuticle without weighing down those precious coils.
