2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Parisian Curly Bob: A Soft, Lived-In Cut for 2B–3B Waves. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

📌 Pin Hair Guide
Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
If your waves are looser, like a 2B, I’d keep the bob slightly longer—just grazing the collarbone—and add softer, longer layers to avoid too much triangle shape. For tighter 3B curls, a shorter, more rounded bob with internal layers gives that gorgeous, full volume without the frizz. The key is to cut dry and let each curl dictate its own length.
For fine or low-density hair, I skip heavy products and rely on a lightweight mousse or a dab of jojoba oil on the ends. For thick, high-density hair, I’ll texturize the under-layers to remove weight while keeping the perimeter soft. Remember, the bob is a canvas—your porosity and curl pattern decide the finishing strokes.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
