2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Parisian Party Bob: A Soft Curl Cut for Effortless Glam. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

📌 Pin Hair Guide
Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For fine, wavy hair (2A–2B), keep the bob slightly longer—just grazing the collarbone—and use point-cutting to remove bulk without losing density. The goal is movement, not weight. For tighter coils (4A–4C), I’d suggest a shorter, stacked nape to prevent the ‘pyramid’ effect, and always cut dry, coil by coil, to honor each curl’s shape.
If your hair is high porosity and prone to frizz, I’d add a few face-framing pieces and seal with a drop of argan oil before styling. Low porosity? Skip heavy creams and rely on a lightweight hibiscus rinse to close the cuticle and add shine. The bob’s beauty is its adaptability—it bends to your hair’s needs, not the other way around.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
