4. Long-Term Scalp Care, Glossing & Maintenance
Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of my guide on The Soft Bob: A Wash-Day Ritual for Naturally Radiant Hair. Keeping your cuticle glossy and your ends split-free between trims comes down to a few simple weekly habits.

Preserving Your Cuticle & Natural Shine
For long-term scalp health, I tell my clients to exfoliate once a month with a gentle sugar scrub mixed with a drop of tea tree oil—this prevents buildup that can make a bob look dull. At night, sleep on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction, and if your bob is prone to tangling, braid it loosely before bed.
Schedule a soft trim every eight weeks to keep the ends healthy and the shape fresh. Between cuts, you can refresh your bob with a dry shampoo at the roots and a spritz of rose water to revive the bounce. Remember, a bob is a statement—it should move with you, not against you.
