2. Tailoring to Your Hair Porosity & Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my guide on The Romantic Bob: A Soft, Face-Framing Cut for Couples' Date Nights. Every head of hair absorbs moisture and holds movement differently—here is how I customize the formula and cut proportions in my studio.

📌 Pin Hair Guide
Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For straight hair, I keep the bob’s line slightly longer in the front and use a light texturizing spray to give it that undone, romantic feel. If you have wavy hair like hers, I cut the layers deeper so the natural wave creates soft, tousled movement without extra styling. The key is balancing the cut with your hair’s natural behavior, not against it.
If your hair is fine, ask your stylist to avoid over-layering—instead, add subtle internal movement with point cutting. For thicker hair, I recommend a graduated bob that removes bulk at the nape while keeping the front pieces long enough to tuck behind your ear. This way, the cut feels light and dance-ready, whether you’re at a candlelit dinner or spinning on a rooftop.
🌿 Quick Porosity Match Guide
- Low Porosity & Fine Strands: Choose clarified herbal hydrosols (rosemary, nettle, peppermint) and airy internal layers.
- Medium Porosity & Wavy Textures: Balance lightweight aloe hydration with cold-pressed jojoba and point-cut movement.
- High Porosity & Curly Strands: Seal moisture with oat lipids, babassu butter, and flaxseed curl definition.
