4. Long-Term Scalp Care, Glossing & Maintenance
Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of my guide on The Romantic Bob: A Soft, Face-Framing Cut for Couples' Date Nights. Keeping your cuticle glossy and your ends split-free between trims comes down to a few simple weekly habits.

Preserving Your Cuticle & Natural Shine
Long-term, I always remind my clients to protect their scalp’s microbiome by avoiding harsh sulfates and doing a weekly apple cider vinegar rinse to keep the follicles healthy. At night, sleep on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and preserve the bob’s shape—this is especially important if you’re dancing or spending evenings out, as the style can get ruffled.
For touch-ups, I recommend coming back every 6 to 8 weeks for a micro-trim to keep the line fresh. Between visits, you can use a dry botanical powder to absorb oil at the roots and add volume without washing away the natural balance. And if you’re heading to a date night, a quick spritz of rose water on your hands then smoothing over the surface will revive the softness and scent.
