4. Long-Term Scalp Care, Glossing & Maintenance
Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of my guide on The Modern Modest Bob: A Chic, Low-Maintenance Cut for Every Occasion. Keeping your cuticle glossy and your ends split-free between trims comes down to a few simple weekly habits.

Preserving Your Cuticle & Natural Shine
Long-term, I always remind my clients to protect their scalp microbiome. A weekly scalp massage with a few drops of jojoba oil stimulates circulation and balances oil production. At night, wrap your bob in a silk scarf or sleep on a silk pillowcase—this prevents friction and keeps the cut crisp.
Visit your stylist every 10–12 weeks for a micro-trim, just to dust the ends. In between, refresh with a dry shampoo made from arrowroot powder to absorb excess oil without residue. Your bob will stay sharp, your scalp happy, and your style effortlessly chic.
