Matching Botanicals & Layers to Your Strands
For women with wavy or curly hair (2B–3B), I’ll cut the bob with a few extra internal layers to encourage natural movement and prevent the dreaded triangle shape. The key is to keep the perimeter slightly heavier so the curls still have weight to fall into a flattering line, even when tucked under a scarf.
If your hair is coily or tightly textured (4A–4B), I recommend a slightly longer, angled bob—longer in the back, shorter in the front—to reduce bulk and make styling under a hijab easier. This cut also works beautifully with a stretch cream or a light botanical gel to define curls and keep them soft all day.
