4. Long-Term Scalp Care, Glossing & Maintenance
Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of my guide on The Mod Bob for Hijabi Women: A Chic, Scalp-Friendly Cut. Keeping your cuticle glossy and your ends split-free between trims comes down to a few simple weekly habits.

Preserving Your Cuticle & Natural Shine
Long-term, I always remind my hijabi clients to give their scalp a break—at night, sleep with your hair loose in a pineapple or a loose braid to prevent tension. Use a silk pillowcase or a silk bonnet to protect the edges and reduce breakage, and every few weeks, do a gentle scalp massage with a few drops of argan oil to stimulate circulation.
For salon visits, I suggest a micro-trim every 6 to 8 weeks to keep the bob’s shape crisp and prevent split ends. At home, refresh your style with a spritz of water and a tiny bit of leave-in conditioner, then let it air-dry. This cut is meant to be low-maintenance, so you can focus on what matters—feeling beautiful, confident, and comfortable in your hijab.
