Welcome to Part 4 of 4 of my guide on The Modern Curly Bob: A Soft, Botanical Cut for Natural Volume. Keeping your cuticle glossy and your ends split-free between trims comes down to a few simple weekly habits.

Preserving Your Cuticle & Natural Shine
Long-term, the health of your scalp is the foundation of beautiful curly hair. I always tell my clients to give themselves a weekly scalp massage with a few drops of rosemary and peppermint essential oil diluted in a carrier oil like argan. This stimulates circulation and keeps the follicles happy, which means stronger, more resilient curls over time. Avoid over-washing—two to three times a week is plenty for most curly textures.
At night, sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and keep your curls defined. You can also try a loose pineapple—gathering your hair at the very top of your head with a silk scrunchie—to preserve the volume. In the salon, I recommend a micro-trim every 7 weeks to keep the bob’s shape crisp, and a monthly herbal gloss treatment with chamomile or hibiscus to add mirror-like shine without weighing down the curls. This routine will keep your bob looking fresh and bouncy, just the way it did on day one.
